MIAMI--March 21, 2005--Cross Lander announced today the appointment of Manuel Baez as Chairman of the Miami-based auto manufacturer. In this role, Baez will be responsible for the company's international operations. Cross Lander also announced it has appointed Bill Goetze as President. Goetze, who formerly served as the company's General Manager, will be responsible for all United States operations, including the rollout of the company's new 4x4 vehicle, the Cross Lander 244X.

The appointments will not affect the role of company founder and current CEO, John Perez. He will continue to oversee the company's total operations in both the United States and Romania.

Baez formerly served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Office, at Baxter International, Inc., an Illinois-based international healthcare company. Prior to his retirement in 1996 after 22 years of service, Baez was in charge of the company's international operations, as well as parts of the U.S. market. All told, Baez was responsible for markets that generated $3.5 billion and employed 25,000 people in 56 different locations for Baxter International; who through its subsidiaries, assists healthcare professionals and their patients with the treatment of complex medical conditions by applying its expertise in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Following his brief retirement, Baez served for three years as Senior Vice President and President, Analytical Instruments, with worldwide responsibilities at Applera Corporation, known then as Perkin Elmer Corporation. He also served as a corporate officer at the Connecticut-based company.

As chairman, Baez will use his experience with multinational companies to guide Cross Lander's growth as a world manufacturer of vehicles, according to Perez.

"With the expertise that Manuel brings to the table in dealing with the international business community and markets, he will help foster Cross Lander's growth on a global scale," Perez explained. "His appointment is a significant enhancement to our worldwide team."

Cross Lander's first U.S.-bound vehicle, the Cross Lander 244X, has recently received certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The company continues to work toward the vehicle's U.S. debut.

The Cross Lander 244X is the first truly affordable mid-sized SRV with rugged capabilities, fulfilling the needs and expectations of 4x4 enthusiasts. The vehicles will be equipped with a V-6, 4.0-liter engine and high-durability power train system, and are expected to sell for around $20,000.

"Cross Lander's new 4x4 SRV is designed clearly for those drivers who want to take their vehicles off-road and explore nature's wilderness," said newly appointed company President Goetze. "Off-roaders, hunters, fishermen, campers and all others that enjoy outdoor activities will find the vehicle fits their needs in the SRV segment."

While the Cross Lander brand is new to the U.S., it is based on the Aro S.A. vehicle that possesses a solid track record for quality, performance and endurance, much of which was garnered from use by international military services. Aro S.A. is the national Romanian automotive company that has been manufacturing rugged off-road vehicles and light trucks for more than 50 years.

Cross Lander officials have built a U.S. dealer network that now consists of more than 150 dealers.
