Goodyear Gains High-Image Fitments

AKRON, Ohio, March 18 -- With General Motors' Pontiac division unveiling some of the hottest new styles in sports cars, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is going along for the ride -- literally.

Already outfitting several vehicles in Pontiac's popular lineup, Goodyear will add the exciting new Solstice to that list when the sports car arrives in coming months.

The 2006 Solstice, already anticipated as one of the most sought-after sports cars, should appear by the end of this summer in the two-seat roadster segment.

Its twin-cam, multi-valve design will blend with the engine's lightweight, all-aluminum construction to optimize the front-to-rear balance of the Solstice. Providing traction and grip on the road will be Goodyear Eagle RS-A high-performance tires in a P245/45R18 size.

The Eagle RS-A tires feature an asymmetrical tread design with aggressive tread blocks in the shoulder area and wide lateral grooves for high traction and confident handling in wet, dry or snow conditions.

Goodyear tires are original equipment on many vehicles from Acura, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercury, Nissan and Toyota. Traditionally, more new vehicles in North America are equipped with Goodyear tires than any other brand.
