AutoHeroes Helps Navigate Unfamiliar Territory When Buying First Car

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--March 16, 2005--

Transferred by Fortune 500 Company, Mark O'Donoghue Worried About Car Buying Complications in States, Sought Expert Assistance

When British native Mark O'Donoghue was recently transferred to the Framingham office of a major Fortune 500 company, one of the first things he knew he needed to do was buy a car. Then he started hearing horror stories about the difficulties of a non-U.S. citizen buying a car in the states and the aggressiveness of car dealers here.

"I was bombarded with different information and advice - on TV, in newspapers and on the Web. I began to feel like I was going to have to go in on my hands and knees at car dealerships in the U.S.," said O'Donoghue. "Since I had no credit history in the U.S., I was unfamiliar with the tax system, and I didn't have the first idea about what dealer I should see, I figured I better get some help, rather than try to go in cold alone."

The relocation agent with whom Mark was working to find a home in the Framingham/Natick area recommended that Mark contact Christopher Burdick of AutoHeroes. AutoHeroes, a personal automobile buying service, is focused on helping consumers find the car of their dreams for the best possible price.

"Before I moved, everyone was telling me that, because I was going to live in New England, I would need a big car with 4-wheel drive to cope with the weather," O'Donoghue said. "After doing some research, I decided I wanted a Nissan Murano. Then I contacted Chris. He set me straight right away on the fact I'd need a Social Security number before I could buy a car in the U.S."

"I got my Social Security number as soon as I could after I moved," he continued. "That's when I got in touch with Chris again and together we began the process of looking for and finding the vehicle I wanted. Working with Chris, I felt like I wasn't being taken advantage of. He levels the playing field for someone like me in dealing with the might of the U.S. car industry."

Chris Burdick recalls that O'Donoghue wanted someone who was knowledgeable about cars as well as the local market. "It can be very intimidating for someone who is not a native of the United States to make a major purchase like a car as soon as they arrive here," said Burdick. "We are pleased that we can simplify the process for them. We help them feel comfortable by staying with them every step of the way - from the time they start looking until the deal is completed and they're driving away in the new vehicle."

"Chris seems to have relationships with lots of dealers and they treat him and his clients in a very professional manner," O'Donoghue noted. "They didn't try to put something over on Chris, because they know that he knows his stuff. This gave me a lot of confidence."

Even though O'Donoghue had decided on a Murano, Burdick wanted him to try other vehicles in the same category, just to make sure. This comparison test of other vehicles in the same class confirmed O'Donoghue's decision to go with the Murano. Once that was decided, Burdick helped negotiate the best deal on a lease for the specific vehicle O'Donoghue chose.

"I am very satisfied with the car and the process of working with Chris and AutoHeroes," concluded O'Donoghue. "The money Chris saved me and the way he made it very comfortable during the entire buying process more than made up for the investment in his services. It definitely was money well-spent."

Burdick noted, "Our services are particularly well-suited to individuals like Mark who have moved into the Boston area from either another country or another state. When you don't know the dealers or who will give you the best price, it's a big advantage to work with someone who does. We really enjoy working with those in the Real Estate relocation market to help their customers."
