ProQuest Company Names Randy Best to Board of Directors

ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 16 -- ProQuest Company , a leading publisher of information solutions for the education and automotive markets, has appointed Randy Best, co-founder of Voyager Learning, to the company's Board of Directors effective March 10, 2005.

"Randy Best co-founded Voyager Learning, one of our most recent and most important acquisitions. Under his leadership, Voyager grew from a startup to a successful education company with annual revenue approaching $100 million. As we continue building ProQuest's K-12 business incorporating the platform of Voyager Learning, having Randy Best as a member of our Board of Directors will be invaluable," said Alan Aldworth, chairman and chief executive officer of ProQuest Company. "I look forward to his contributions to ProQuest Company's continued success, and I welcome him to our board," added Aldworth.

Mr. Best brings significant expertise to ProQuest in the fields of literacy, K-12 education and the growth of emerging businesses. He was also a founding partner in the merchant banking firm, Mason Best. During his 35 years in merchant banking, he gained extensive experience as a private investor and senior executive in a broad range of business entities.

Mr. Best is an advisory board member for the Education Commission of the States, and a member of the National Education Association Foundation Board, the College of Education Foundation Advisory Council for the University of Texas at Austin, and the National Urban Alliance Board for Columbia University. Previously, he served on the White House Millennium Committee and The Foundation Leadership Network.
