ORLANDO, Fla. and FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., March 15 -- Top managers from DaimlerChrysler Services Customer Contact Centers gathered in the Orlando community of Pine Hills today to paint, landscape, install new bicycle racks and clean toys and equipment at the Wayne Densch YMCA. "It's the community relations philosophy of DaimlerChrysler Services to get involved in the communities in which we live and work," said Dietmar Exler, Vice President -- Customer Service, Collections, Remarketing and Credit Card Operations.
"It's one thing to talk about social responsibility as a core value of the company. Today we're doing more than talking about it; we're living it," said Exler.
Orlando is also home to one of the company's eight United States Business Centers which employs more than 120 finance professionals who serve 500 dealers and their customers throughout the Southeast with a variety of automotive financial service products.
The company's volunteer initiative in Orlando comes on the heels of its massive one-day project in January in Hollywood, Fla. when 200 company executives transformed a vacant piece of city property into a park and playground.
Exler said the company's community efforts in Orlando and Hollywood are a symbol of employee outreach toward citizens of the entire state of Florida in the aftermath of the violent hurricanes last year.
DaimlerChrysler Services employs more than 200 finance professionals in Florida, one of its largest markets in the country. Many DaimlerChrysler Services employees participated in recovery efforts in Florida communities following the hurricanes.
