Pharos' Ostia Smart Navigator Routing and Navigation Software Selected a Grand Prize Winner in Microsoft's Mobile2Market Application Contest

Innovative Routing and Navigation Software Program, Incorporating Tele Atlas Digital Map Data, Wins "Best Design for Windows-Mobile" for Its Pocket PC Work Application

Pharos Science & Applications Inc., a leading provider of portable GPS navigation and location-based services, was selected as a Grand Prize Winner in Microsoft's Mobile2Market Application Contest 2004. Pharos' Ostia Smart Navigator(TM) routing and navigation software program, which turns a Pocket PC into a vehicle navigation device, was chosen as the best work application for Microsoft Windows-Mobile powered Pocket PCs.

Ostia is the operating system behind Pharos' growing line of navigation products including the popular Pocket GPS Navigator for Pocket PC personal digital assistants, and the company's newly launched EZ Road all-in-one, portable GPS navigation device for drivers. Both products rely upon digital map data and dynamic location information from Tele Atlas, a worldwide leader in digital maps and location content.

Pharos' Ostia also serves as the enabling software for the company's suite of Web-based location services, which includes Smart Navigator routing and navigation, Smart Finder dynamic points-of-interest lookup, and Smart Traffic real-time traffic information.
