Simrit Introduces Pulsation Dampeners to Improve Engine Efficiencies

PLYMOUTH, Mich., March 15 -- Accumulators are typically recognized as devices to store energy, however Simrit -- the industrial products division of Plymouth, Mich.-based Freudenberg-NOK -- is now using this technology to improve engine performance. These pulsation dampeners and other sealing innovations can be seen at the company's booth (#13849) during the International Exposition for Power Transmission (IFPE) held this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Around the world, Simrit has succeeded at applying in-line accumulators to minimize the effect of pulsations caused by the fuel pump on the fuel delivery system, resulting in improved engine efficiencies and a decrease in the overall noise level.

"With the increasing importance of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) reduction, our customers are demanding a world-class supplier that can provide leading-edge solutions," said Joel T. Johnson, vice president of technology for Simrit. "We can design and supply the innovations they need -- here and around the globe -- based on our unsurpassed technology expertise, global reach, exceptional quality levels and superior service."

Three additional benefits of this technology include a significant reduction of vibration, increased power through optimized fluid flow and lower emissions. Johnson said that every accumulator is custom designed to meet the customer's specific application.

Integral Accumulator, which is part of the global Freudenberg group, is a worldwide leader in this technology and is represented by Simrit. A market leader in the aerospace, industrial and agriculture/construction market segments, Simrit draws from more than 150 years of experience and well- known brand names including Freudenberg(R), NOK(R), Disogrin(R), Merkel and International Seal(R).

The Simrit division is based at Freudenberg-NOK's headquarters in Plymouth, Mich. Freudenberg-NOK is part of the Freudenberg and NOK Group Companies, which have total annual sales of nearly $7 billion. The global Freudenberg and NOK Group offers an extensive portfolio of precision-molded products for the aerospace, agriculture/construction, appliance, automotive, diesel engine, marine, medical and recreational vehicle markets.
