Oshkosh Truck Produces 1000th Revolution Composite Mixer Drum; Mixer Performance Capability Tested and Independently Certified
OSHKOSH, Wis.--March 15, 2005--Oshkosh Truck Corporation , a leading manufacturer of trucks and truck bodies, announced that its subsidiary, McNeilus Companies Inc., has built its 1,000th Revolution(R) composite concrete mixer drum. The landmark drum is currently on display at the company's booth - S-9705 - at the CONEXPO - CON/AGG 2005 construction trade show in Las Vegas."We've been investing in the Revolution technology for four years. It is evidence of our willingness to push ourselves to the leading edge of technology to bring unique performance capabilities to our ready-mix customers. The production of our 1,000th unit is a true milestone in the life-cycle of this technology, but it's just the beginning," said Robert G. Bohn, Oshkosh's chairman, president and chief executive officer.
The company's Revolution mixer also completed independent performance testing with the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau (TMMB) and received that organization's certification of its discharge and mix uniformity performance. The TMMB is an independent industry organization that has been upholding and applying industry standards since independent certification began almost 40 years ago.
In addition, the company conducted its own exhaustive durability testing and estimates that the Revolution drum has the potential to last approximately 67 percent longer than a comparable 3/16-inch steel drum.
