Celebrity Heroes to Honor Nation's Top Hometown Heroes March 24 in Times Square

2005 Volvo for life Awards Hosted by Jim Belushi; Hero Awards Presented by
   Hank Aaron, Bill Bradley, Dr. Sally Ride and Eunice Kennedy Shriver;
        Music by The Black Crowes, Sahara Hotnights and Tina Dico

   What:     Celebrity heroes -- Hank Aaron, Bill Bradley, Dr. Sally Ride
             and Eunice Kennedy Shriver -- are scheduled to present the
             nation's top hometown heroes with the Volvo for life Awards.
             The 2005 Volvo for life Awards Ceremony is the largest-ever
             national search for and celebration of everyday heroes with
             Volvo providing more than $1 million in contributions in honor
             of hometown heroes. The 10 heroes being honored were chosen
             from 4,272 nominations and appear on
             www.volvoforlifeawards.com.

   Where:    Times Square Studios, Ltd. (Home of ABC-TV's "Good Morning
             America"), 44th and Broadway, Times Square, New York; Thurs.,
             March 24, 2005, 7 p.m. -- 11 p.m. (Call 612-338-3900 for

             participants.)

   Who:      Hosted by Jim Belushi; Awards presented by the celebrity heroes
             listed above; Musical performances by The Black Crowes, Sahara
             Hotnights and Tina Dico. Honorees include:

             *  Hope Bevilhymer, 27, a West Jordan, Utah, amputee who
                founded "Limbs of Hope" to provide recycled prosthetic limbs
                to amputees overseas.

             *  Lisa Busch, 38, a Sitka, Alaska, resident bringing
                environmentalists and timber proponents together to
                revitalize her community and the environment.

             *  Abdul Hafiz, 13, a Staten Island, N.Y., junior high student
                lobbying politicians to pass a new law requiring special
                safety gates for fire escapes.

             *  Paula Lucas, 46, a domestic abuse survivor in Portland,
                Ore., helping American women escape abusive relationships
                while living abroad.

             *  Jose Morales, 48, Elmhurst, N.Y., who is helping more than
                3,100 Spanish-speaking people in Queens, New York recover
                from substance abuse.

   Why:      Launched in June 2004, the third annual Volvo for life Awards
             called for people nationwide to nominate an unsung hero at
             www.volvoforlifeawards.com. More than 4,200 nominations were
             submitted.  Distinguished judges -- Aaron, Bradley, Caroline
             Kennedy, Maya Lin, Paul Newman, Ride and Shriver -- selected
             three winning heroes in the categories of safety, quality of
             life and environment.  At the event, 10 heroes will be honored,
             including the three category winners who will each receive a
             $50,000 contribution to the charities of their choice.  The
             remaining seven other heroes will receive $25,000
             contributions.  One grand winner will be announced and will
             receive a new Volvo car every three years for the rest of her
             life and the designation of "America's Greatest Hometown Hero."
