Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines to Christen MV Jean Anne: First Pure Car Truck Carrier to Service Hawaii Market

CORTE MADERA, Calif.--March 14, 2005--www.pashagroup.com or www.pashahawaii.com--The Pasha Group and Strong Vessel Operators are pleased to announce the christening of Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines' MV Jean Anne at the Port of San Diego on March 21, 2005. Built to service the needs of the automotive manufacturing, rental car, private vehicle owners, over-sized and rolling stock markets, the Jean Anne is the first Pure Car Truck Carrier (PCTC) to be built in the United States, and the first PCTC vessel to service the Continental U.S. - Hawaii market. Owned and operated by Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines, a joint venture between The Pasha Group and Strong Vessel Operators, the Jean Anne will make her inaugural voyage to Hawaii, departing after the christening celebration.

"After five years of hard work, Pasha Hawaii is eager to announce the christening and inaugural voyage of the Jean Anne," said George Pasha IV, president of Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines. "We are extremely pleased to take delivery of the first modern car carrier built in the United States. The Jean Anne exceeded everyone's expectations during sea trials -- a testament to the capability of the entire team responsible for her construction. The Jean Anne is a reflection of the hard work and determination on the part of many people, and we look forward to her ably serving the Hawaii trade for many years to come."

"The customers in the Continental U.S. - Hawaii market asked for a Ro-Ro Service, and we responded to their needs," said Nickel van Reesema, president of Strong Vessel Operators and COO of Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines. "Cars are the lowest paying freight for the container vessel operators, however, with our PCTC ship, car shippers will be the number one customer for Pasha."

The vessel is currently transiting the Panama Canal and is expected to arrive in San Diego, California on March 17, 2005.
