Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Expands Detroit-Area Offices
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 14 -- Automotive supplier Kolbenschmidt Pierburg has expanded its Detroit-area offices to make room for 40 professional staffers, including program and engineering managers, application engineers, designers and other sales, marketing and engineering staff.
The new facilities more than double the company's previous floor space to support current business and help to grow future business for Kolbenschmidt Pierburg's three North American divisions: Pierburg, Inc., KS Bearings and Karl Schmidt Unisia.
"This marks a further commitment to our growing list of North American customers," noted Peter Hradowy, vice president sales and engineering, Pierburg, Inc. "With this move, we have more than tripled our applications engineering, design and CAD capabilities."
The March 1 move to the new 8,800-square-foot offices in Suite 400 of the Evergreen Atrium Building, 26261 Evergreen Rd., Southfield, Mich., immediately makes room for a new engineering manager at Pierburg and four new soon-to-be- announced program managers for Pierburg and KS Bearings.
In line with the move, Kolbenschmidt Pierburg recently launched a new website designed specifically for North America. The site includes product information for the entire global Kolbenschmidt Pierburg product line and is linked to the parent website in Germany. "We can now offer information via the Internet that is complete and also unique to our North American customers," Hradowy said. Kolbenschmidt Pierburg, a leading supplier of pistons, automotive oil and water pumps, throttle bodies, bearings, secondary air systems and exhaust flaps, as well as electric exhaust gas recirculation systems, has North American production facilities in Fountain Inn, S.C.; Greensburg, Ind.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Marinette, Wis., and Leamington, Ontario, in addition to its North American sales offices in Southfield, Michigan.
