Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction Postponed
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--March 10, 2005--The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company has issued the following statement from Craig Jackson, president of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company:"The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company has postponed its 2005 Orange County Auction in the greater Los Angeles area. The sustained interest in collectible cars has created such strong growth and demand that the current plan for this event cannot meet the high expectations set this year by consignors, bidders and sponsors.
Barrett-Jackson has earned a reputation for creating the ultimate lifestyle event with the best cars, celebrities, exhibitors and activities. As previously announced, we chose to move the California auction to the Orange County Fairgrounds to expand it into the trademark Barrett-Jackson lifestyle weekend. The unprecedented success of the 2005 Scottsdale event, as well as the tremendous interest in the Palm Beach auction, simply will not allow ample time to create a world-class event due to the limited dates available at the California facility.
The revised dates for the 2006 Orange County Auction will be announced in the near future. We are confident that the additional time will allow us to make the experience of our first year at the Orange County Fairgrounds as enjoyable as at our Scottsdale and Palm Beach Auctions."
