National Auto Care Corp. Selects PNC Bank and Works to Streamline Claims Processing

Innovative Commercial Credit Card Program Management Lowers Costs, Increases Customer Satisfaction

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 10 -- National Auto Care Corp., a Columbus-based vehicle service agreement provider, has selected PNC Bank, National Association, member of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. , and Works Operating Company, a leading provider of web-based commercial credit card management and optimization solutions, to provide cutting-edge technology that automates National Auto Care's claims and payment process. The new online tracking and reporting system replaces tedious manual reconciliation and stacks of paper repair orders related to claim payments made to dealers and repair facilities.

This improved approach to claims processing is made possible through PNC's innovative credit card program called ActivePay(SM), which utilizes Works' integrated online payment solution that connects payment management with Visa's global payment network. This simplified and automated process implemented by National Auto Care demonstrates how commercial credit cards are becoming a preferred method of payment for settling warranty claims. ActivePay cards are enhanced through Works' Web-based technology by giving companies control over the cardholder's spending by electronically assigning each card a specific credit limit corresponding to the payment to be made.

"This proficient model for processing claims allows us to minimize the risk of fraudulent claims, reduce time spent manually matching exception items and quickly resolve payment issues because of online reporting and tracking," said Peter J. Biscardi, National Auto Care President. "PNC has shown National Auto Care its commitment to meeting our unique business needs by providing us with this application. Through this relationship, we are able to provide additional services to our dealers and clients, who benefit through reduced or eliminated accounts receivables at the repair facility and the dealership, with payments made within an hour from when the service was provided."

National Auto Care, which processes approximately 5,000 claims a month, assigns each claim to an ActivePay card number when either a repair shop or auto dealership requests approval for repairs covered under National's vehicle service agreements. The company can electronically document the service center name and the type of approved repair, and assign an exact dollar amount to that specific credit card number to establish an appropriate credit limit. When the credit card payment transaction is submitted by the repair facility, PNC Bank's ActivePay card system reconciles or matches that information to the approved claim amount. The claim is automatically processed through the National Auto Care's claims system if the service center name, repair type and dollar amount match; exceptions are manually reviewed.

National Auto Care, established in 1984, is engaged in the design, marketing and administration of extended vehicle service agreements sold by franchised and independent automobile dealers located throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Works, Inc. is redefining how commercial cards are used by businesses today. Works partners with leading credit card issuing banks and maintains relationships with Visa and MasterCard to provide leading technology and business processes that enables business and government organizations to use commercial cards as their payment of choice.
