Safelite Group Announces Support of New Ronald McDonald House

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 9 -- Columbus, Ohio-based Safelite Group, the parent company of Safelite AutoGlass, announces a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio to support a new Ronald McDonald House, a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children at local hospitals.

Safelite is contributing $50,000 to cover the costs of two rooms in the newly completed 55,000-square-foot house, which is scheduled to receive its first guests this Sunday, March 13. The two rooms sponsored by Safelite are the Teen Room and the Family Laundry Room. The Teen Room provides an area for teens to interact and the Family Laundry Room features a playroom for children and a sitting room in which parents can relax while doing their laundry.

"Supporting the new Ronald McDonald House is a great opportunity for Safelite to give back to the Central Ohio community that has given so much to us," said Tom Feeney, Safelite Group's executive vice president & chief client officer, as well a member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio Board of Trustees. "We hope our contribution can play some small role in easing the burden of families when a child is hospitalized."

Due to space limitations at the current 28-room house, Ronald McDonald House Charities has been forced to turn families away on a consistent basis. The new Ronald McDonald House will provide accommodations for 37 families with the potential to add 50 rooms in the future. The new house is scheduled to be unveiled during a donor event this Thursday, March 10. There will be a public open house on Saturday, March 12.
