Nissan to Discontinue Works Participation in Dakar

Tokyo March 8, 2005; Dale Hug, writing for JCNN reported that Nissan Motor has announced that it has decided to cease works motorsport activities of the Nissan Rally Raid Team following three fruitful years in Dakar from 2003 to 2005.

This team has regularly won stages and finished strongly in each three Dakar Rally Raids. The experience gained from Dakar was used to power Nissan to victory in Rally Raid races across Europe, such as Baja Portalegre.

Nissan has embarked on a strong product-led growth strategy in Europe with 10 new models to be introduced in the next three years.
