Omega Polymer Technologies Announces Management Reorganization

AURORA, Ohio, March 8 -- The Board of Directors of Omega Polymer Technologies, Inc. (OPTI), the parent company of Omega Pultrusions, Carsonite International and Viking Plastics, today announced the reorganization of its management team.

Effective immediately, David Morley has been promoted to President - Sales, Donald Smith has been promoted to President - Operations and Ronald Baker has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. These three executives will collectively lead the company's Omega Pultrusions and Carsonite International subsidiaries and be responsible for all operational aspects of these two subsidiaries. In addition, Baker will continue to serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the parent company, a position he has held since 2002.

The Board of Directors also announced that Kelly Goodsel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Viking Plastics, has been re-elected to his present position and will continue to run the company and report to the Board of Directors.

Baker, Morley, Smith and Goodsel were also appointed to the newly-created Executive Management Committee of OPTI, which will be responsible for the operation of all three of the company's subsidiaries.

Prior to his promotion, David Morley was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Omega Pultrusions and Carsonite International. Before joining the company he was Vice President of Sales for Rutland Plastic Technologies and served in senior management positions with Fibergrate Composite Structures both in the U.S. and the United Kingdom. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and an OND in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Air Force.

Don Smith joined the company in 2001 as Vice President of Operations of Carsonite International in South Carolina and was named Senior Vice President of Operations for both Omega Pultrusions and Carsonite International in 2004. He has 14 years experience in the auto industry including five years with the Robert Bosch Corporation where he served as Director of Manufacturing, Engineering and Operations. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (cum laude) from State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University as well as a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University.

Before joining OPTI in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer, Ron Baker had more than 23 years of financial management experience, most recently as Vice President and Treasurer of Marconi Americas, a global telecommunication equipment manufacturer and service provider. Prior to Marconi, Ron was the Treasurer of RELTEC Corporation, a $1 billion telecommunication manufacturer, and also held various senior accounting and financial management positions at Reliance Electric. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a dual bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Garfield College and an MBA in Finance from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Kelly Goodsel has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Viking Plastics since joining the company in 2002. Previously, he held senior management positions with a number of plastics firms including The Plastics Group in Fremont, OH and the Huron Plastics Group. He has dual BS degrees (Plastics Engineering & Marketing/Sales) from Ferris State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Temple University.

The board also announced the resignation of Stanley M. Burson, who had served as the company's President and Chief Executive Officer of OPTI since July of 2001. Burson was hired by the company to oversee its turnaround and re-position it for growth. With the successful completion of the turnaround, Burson has decided to pursue other opportunities.

Omega Polymer Technologies, Inc. (OPTI) is a holding company headquartered in Aurora, OH.
