MARATHON SEASON IS UNDERWAY THIS SPRING AND WITH INCREASING NUMBERS OF PARTICIPANTS, TRAINING AND SAFETY BECOME KEY
TUESDAY, MARCH 22, 2005
11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. EASTERN TIME
WHAT:
March/April marks the kick off of marathon season – and the best time to start training. Until recently, marathoners have been regarded as super-athletes with a lifetime of training under their belts. But today's typical marathoner comes in ALL SIZES, is JUST AS LIKELY TO BE FEMALE AS MALE and probably lives in a household with above average income and education.
From P. DIDDY to OPRAH WINFREY, more and more amateur athletes are beginning to participate in marathons. More people ran marathons last year than ever before and experts expect that number will increase even further in 2005. Forty percent of participants each year are doing their first marathon.
WHY:
Yasso to Offer Helpful Insight to Make Your First Marathon Experience Incredible and Safe

•	There has been close to a 50 PERCENT INCREASE in the number of marathons over the last 10 years
•	Female participation in marathons has increased by 200 PERCENT
•	The overall increase in men and women marathoners over the past 10 years is more than 60 percent
