What: AIAM, the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers
and The Center for Automotive Research, a research group dedicated
to global automotive issues, will release a new study on the
economic contributions of the new American automakers to the U.S.
economy. Over the past several decades, the new American
automakers -- international companies that manufacture and sell
passenger cars and light duty trucks in the United States -- have
made substantial investments in manufacturing plants and other
facilities in this country. Those investments have paid off, in
terms of new jobs and in making the vehicles that Americans want
to drive.
