Bosch Finalizes Tsunami Relief Donation

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., March 7 -- The employees of Robert Bosch Corporation and its affiliates in the U.S. and Mexico have donated over $160,000 (USD) to provide aid for the regions in Asia and east Africa affected by the tsunami disaster.

Early January, Bosch asked its more than 23,000 North American associates to join colleagues from around the world to make donations towards the relief effort. In turn, the Bosch Group announced plans to match all associate contributions.

"As citizens of the world, we were all shocked and saddened by the devastation caused by this unprecedented natural disaster," said Kurt Liedtke, chairman, president and CEO, Robert Bosch Corporation. "We are proud of our associates for their generous donations, and Bosch will match these funds for disaster relief."

Associate donations from North America were distributed to UNICEF, the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.

North American contributions were part of a global relief program implemented by Bosch. Worldwide, the company's associates donated over $2 million (USD). Including the company's match, Bosch's total donation exceeds $4 million (USD). This amount is in addition to a nearly $330,000 (USD) donation made by Bosch immediately following the tragedy.
