short start

Krohn Racing/TRG was thwarted in its qualifying attempt for the Rolex Sports
Car Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway when the qualifying session was
stopped after two laps for an on-track incident. Jörg Bergmeister will start
Saturday's race 11th on the 49-car grid, based on his single qualifying lap
of one minute 16.821 seconds. He will share driving duty with Max Papis in
the No. 66 Pontiac-powered Riley Mk XI. Tracy Krohn and Nic Jönsson will
start 21st in the No. 67 Pontiac-Riley, after Krohn went off track during
the qualifying session to avoid contact with two cars that tangled ahead of
him.

Bergmeister had the benefit of his co-driver coaching from the pit lane.
"It's really nice to be able to drive with Max this year –
driving-stylewise, we match up very well together and I can learn a lot from
him," Bergmeister said. "It's nice to have him talk with me over the radio
while I'm in the car. He tried in qualifying to help me find a clean gap
where I could slot in a fast lap, but unfortunately, I only got in one
qualifying lap!"

race respite

Tracy Krohn enjoys both the power of racing and the respite from his
high-powered day job at the helm of W&T Offshore, Inc., an oil and gas
exploration and production company with a primary focus in the Gulf of
Mexico. The firm successfully launched an initial public offering last month
on the New York stock exchange (WTI). "The good thing about racing is when I
get in the car, all I have to do is focus on one thing," Krohn said.

gel game

Kevin Buckler, co-owner of Krohn Racing/TRG with Tracy Krohn, is proud of
the new team's chemistry. "It’s really good to see the team come together –
we’re starting to gel as a group. Everybody’s done a great job; we keep
getting better every session, which is important.

He was frustrated by the abbreviated Homestead qualifying session:
"Qualifying today was a bit of a bummer. I don’t think anyone on the grid
got a clean lap in – I know for certain that Jörg and Tracy didn't."
