Sacom Exhibits Visteon's Mobile Electronics Accessories at Geneva Motor Show

GENEVA, Switzerland, March 1 -- Visteon Corporation's consumer expertise brings innovative in-car entertainment solutions to Geneva Motor Show.

Visteon continues to grow its network of aftermarket distributors across Europe. As automakers unveil their new cars and concept vehicles this week at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, Sacom, a leading Swiss distributor for car accessories, displays Visteon's aftermarket mobile electronics product lineup.

Visteon's market research recently tested key infotainment concepts and products including audio, portable device support, digital technologies, wireless phone, and telematics with over 2,500 consumers from USA, China, Germany, and the UK. The research has validated that Europeans are interested in functional, information-based technologies, favouring "function" over "form".

Sacom is presenting Visteon's portable Dockable Family Entertainment System (XV101-DS Overhead Docking Station with XV101-MP Dockable Media Player). Visteon's unique solution is a Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) player that blends into a vehicle's interior and can move easily from in-vehicle use to laptop or in-home use. The automotive grade portable DVD player gives consumers a large 10-inch viewing screen, remote control, and infrared headphones. The docking unit and portable DVD player are designed as a modular unit. The DVD player simply locks into the nearly flush mounted docking unit. The device is fully compatible with another innovation from Visteon which is commercially available - the digital TV tuner DigiTune DVB-M1. With these new products, Visteon makes watching DVDs and TV in your car an everyday experience.

Visteon's DigiTune(TM) DVB-M1 digital television provides vehicle passengers with the benefits of interactive viewing while traveling. Terrestrial digital video broadcast technology offers a wide variety of channels with clear, sharp digital picture quality and crystal clear digital sound. The digital TV tuner adds TV reception to in-car infotainment options and is fully compatible with Visteon's overhead entertainment systems. Importantly for the aftermarket, this high quality TV receiver can be easily installed. In Switzerland, digital video broadcasting terrestrial (DVB-T) is currently available in the two cantons Engadin and Tessin. Switzerland's broadcasting industry is moving step-by-step from analog to digital transmission with the change-over across the whole country expected to be completed by sometime in 2009.

Visteon's Dockable Family Entertainment System is available as an easy-to-install accessory to the automotive aftermarket worldwide. This innovative technology is also available as a factory-fit original equipment solution having been integrated into the vehicles of a number of leading car brands in Europe and North America.
