Cummins Power Generation Leader Named to Head RV Industry Association
FRIDLEY, Minn.--March 2, 2005--Richard A. Coon, who has led Cummins Power Generation's recreational vehicle sales efforts for more than 15 years, has been named President-elect of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).Coon will leave Cummins and join RVIA on June 1, 2005, in preparation for assuming the president's position Jan. 3, 20050, 2006, following the retirement of longtime RVIA President David J. Humphreys.
Coon, who has three decades of experience in the RV industry, has been an RVIA board member since 2000 and currently is first vice-chairman of the trade organization. Coon joined Onan in 1974 and worked in various management roles before assuming his current position of Director - RV Business for Cummins Power Generation in 1989. In this role, Coon has responsibility for all aspects of the worldwide business.
Cummins Power Generation manufactures and markets RV power generation products under the industry-leading Onan brand. The Onan RV product line - produced in Fridley -- is part of Cummins Power Generation Consumer Business, which has reported record sales and profits each of the last three years.
