Acura Sets Sales Record for February
TSX Sports Sedan Has Record-Setting Month
TORRANCE, Calif., March 1 -- Acura posted record February sales of 16,151 vehicles, surpassing the previous mark of 15,155 set in 2004 and up 6.6 percent versus last year based on the daily selling rate. Acura year-to-date sales of 29,815 rose 9.8 percent versus 2004.
Strong sales of the TSX, TL and RL sedans helped set a new monthly record of 11,453 for total cars, breaking the record of 10,226 set in 2004. The TSX sports sedan set a new February sales record, up 34.7 percent compared to 2004. TSX sales of 2,638 units surpassed the previous record of 1,959 vehicles set last year. Demand for the 2005 Acura RL continued to grow with sales of 1,412 up 189.3 percent compared to 2004. Year-to-date RL sales of 2,783 outpaced last year's total of 977 by 196.7 percent. The TL performance luxury sedan was Acura's top-selling model for the 17th straight month with February sales of 5,934 driving the year-to-date total to 10,687.
