Mercedes-Benz USA Records 13,513 New Vehicle Sales

MONTVALE, N.J., March 1 -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported sales of 13,513 new vehicles for February 2005, up from January 2005 sales, but down 16.5 percent from last year's record-breaking February. Beginning in April, the company plans to expand its presence in the luxury light truck segment with the introduction of the all new 2006 M-Class. In the Fall, MBUSA will launch the 2006 R-Class which represents a new segment that MBUSA calls the Sports Tourer segment. These models will further expand MBUSA's position as offering the widest product portfolio in the luxury vehicle market, and the company expects to post yet another record year in 2005.

Separately, the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicle program reported February sales of 3,677 units, a 16.1 percent decrease versus the previous February.

MBUSA, headquartered in Montvale, N.J., is responsible for the sales, marketing and service of all Mercedes-Benz products in the United States.
