* Mercedes-Benz USA Reports Sales of 13,513 Vehicles, Down 17 Percent (Unadjusted) for February 2005

NEW YORK, March 1 -- DaimlerChrysler AG , the third largest U.S. auto maker, today reported total group sales of 199,156 passenger vehicles in the U.S. for February 2005, a five percent increase compared to February 2004. All sales figures in this release are on an unadjusted basis unless otherwise noted.

Chrysler Group, which consists of the Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge brands, posted sales of 185,643 vehicles in the U.S., an increase of eight percent (adjusted & unadjusted). Both February 2004 and February 2005 had 24 selling days. After launching a record of nine new models in 2004, the Chrysler Group is preparing to launch at least 5 new models in the marketplace in 2005, including the 2006 Dodge Charger and the all-new Dodge Ram Mega Cab, which was introduced at the Chicago Auto Show in February and features the roomiest and most comfortable cab of any pick-up truck.

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) posted sales of 13,513 units in February, a 17 percent decrease compared to the same month last year. As part of a major product offensive, the company plans to expand its presence in the luxury light truck segment with two major introductions beginning with the launch of the all-new 2006 M-Class in April and the R-Class, which represents a new segment that Mercedes calls the Sports Tourer segment, later this year.

Detailed vehicle sales information for MBUSA and Chrysler Group will be announced later today in separate press releases issued by the groups.
