TROY, Mich., Feb. 25, 2005 -- ArvinMeritor, Inc. announced today that Jerry Rush, senior director for the company's Government Affairs and Community Relations, has been named president of Michigan's Automation Alley. During his two-year term, Rush will preside over the Automation Alley Board of Directors and have oversight responsibilities for the executive committee.
"It's an honor and a privilege to serve with this nationally recognized group," said Rush. "Automation Alley has been a vital force in enhancing the image of Southeastern Michigan as a technology leader and in bringing top talent to the area. I look forward to representing its distinguished membership, as well as to working with the staff to guide the organization into the future."
Automation Alley is Southeast Michigan's regional technology cluster that was created to leverage the combined strength of the region's high-tech companies into a national marketing strategy that would attract skilled talent and cutting-edge businesses to the area. Jennifer Granholm for its leadership in drawing new technology and highly skilled jobs to Michigan.
Rush, who has served on Automation Alley's Board of Directors for four years, joined ArvinMeritor in 1977. He has served as director, Federal and State Government Relations, for Rockwell International's Automotive and Automation businesses and was based in Rockwell's Washington, D.C., office.
In his current position, Rush champions congressional, federal, state and local government relations for ArvinMeritor.
