6 Million Auto Club Members Linked to Court's Traffic-Ticket Website
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 25, 2005 -- Effective this week, the nearly six million members of the Automobile Club of Southern California are able to pay traffic tickets through the Auto Club Website: www.aaa.com.
The new AAA service enables members to transact most of their traffic matters online instead of traveling to courthouses in Los Angeles and four other California counties.
The Los Angeles Superior Court's bilingual Website (www.lasuperiorcourt.org) offers English- and Spanish-language pages to expedite traffic-ticket payments. Rescheduling a traffic court appearance and enrolling in traffic school are among the Website's other popular options.
"This is a classic win-win project," said Los Angeles Superior Court Presiding Judge William A. MacLaughlin. "There are minimal funds budgeted for marketing Court programs and working with the Auto Club is a creative way to inform millions of potential customers about the Court's online traffic services," said MacLaughlin.
"Members already use www.aaa.com for a variety of automobile-related services, including car buying, car loans, insurance and automotive maintenance tips," said Carol Thorp, Auto Club spokesperson. "Now they will have the convenience of linking directly to court sites to take care of traffic citations and other court-related matters," said Thorp.
In addition to the Los Angeles Superior Court Web site, Auto Club members may link to traffic-ticket payment Websites for Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.
