DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 23, 2005 -- Hundreds of thousands of visitors to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit were treated to the 2005 Michelin Challenge Design exhibit, reflecting the influence of German automotive design on its world-wide community.
If you missed it at the Auto Show, or wish to see it again, not to worry. The Michelin Challenge Design exhibit will be on display at the Automotive Hall of Fame from February 15 until April 10. The exhibit highlights the work of 41 designers from 20 different countries, including Azerbaijan, Slovenia and the Republic of Moldova. A six person international jury reviewed over 160 entries to choose the finalists.
Michelin Challenge Design was established in 2002 as a way to identify and display significant design work that would not normally have the opportunity to be displayed at a major international auto show.
The Automotive Hall of Fame, located in Dearborn, Michigan, is the only industry-wide means of honoring the men and women of the global motor vehicle and related industries. It is dedicated to preserving the history of mobility by celebrating the creativity, toil and genius of the individual. The Automotive Hall of Fame is both a visitor attraction and an educational resource for inspiring others to higher levels of achievement in their own work and lives.
