ECD's Central Analytical Laboratory Achieves ISO Certification

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., Feb. 22, 2005 -- The Central Analytical Laboratory (CAL), a division of Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (ECD Ovonics) , today announced that it has achieved official ISO 9001:2000 certification as of January 31, 2005.

"This accomplishment is testament to the level of quality assurance the laboratory has always provided and is also an industry-accepted standard of quality," said Dr. Benjamin Chao, Director of the laboratory.

The Central Analytical Laboratory specializes in materials characterization for the determination of physical and chemical properties, failure analysis, and quality assurance to all industries. The group has been in operation since 1960 as an in-house technical and analytical support facility for ECD Ovonics and its subsidiaries. Their expertise is now available to companies required to employ ISO-certified laboratories for their testing needs.
