Digital Signage and Kiosk Provider WireSpring Joins Retail Broadband Alliance

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--Feb. 2, 20052, 2005--

Group Helps Merchants Migrate to Broadband and Leverage New Retail Applications, Including Dynamic Pop Displays and Self-Service Kiosks

WireSpring Technologies, a developer of software and technology for interactive kiosks and digital signage systems, today announced that it has joined the Retail Broadband Alliance, a forum that makes it easy for retailers migrating to broadband networks to increase revenue, cut expenses, and improve the customer experience.

WireSpring's offerings help retailers and brands reach customers at the point of decision, where an estimated 70 percent of purchasing decisions are made. These offerings fall into two categories:

- Dynamic POP displays and in-store TV networks, which deliver targeted advertising and informational content on the sales floor. Functioning like a private TV station, these systems allow visual merchandising managers and brand marketers to tailor their messaging based on numerous factors, including time of day and the department in the store where screens are placed.

- Self-service kiosks, which streamline sales processes by providing consumers with on-demand access to the services they need. Popular applications include signing up for loyalty programs, printing coupons, and applying for instant credit accounts.

When integrated into an existing co-op program, digital signage and kiosk systems can serve the threefold purpose of generating incremental revenues for the retailer, driving sales for their brands, and improving customer satisfaction in the purchase decision.

"We're pleased to join the Retail Broadband Alliance and help retailers interact with their customers on a one-to-one level," said WireSpring CEO William Gerba. "Like many of today's most promising retail applications, digital signage and kiosks work best with a broadband connection. The Retail Broadband Alliance makes it easy for retailers to build a reliable, secure network across their entire chain, and should be a huge asset to any retailer seeking to implement proven solutions for enhancing sales and customer service through our solutions."

The Retail Broadband Alliance brings together companies that represent products and services used in the entire retail sales supply chain for data networks. The Retail Broadband Alliance now includes more than 30 companies. Retail merchants pick and choose the providers they want.

"New Edge Networks welcomes WireSpring into the growing Retail Broadband Alliance," said Greg Griffiths, vice president of marketing for New Edge Networks. "WireSpring represents yet another trusted choice for merchants who turn to the Retail Broadband Alliance for support in migrating to broadband."
