Fun for Fans Before the Aaron's 499 in 'Dega
February 19, 2005
Rugged, dependable Trail Buck ATV lined up for Race Fever 2005 auction.
Talladega, Ala. -- The live auction segment of Race Fever 2005, to be
held prior to the Aaron's 499 in Talladega, includes some new and
exciting items, coordinators announced today. John Deere donated one
of their most popular ATVs to benefit the Alabama Institute for Deaf
and Blind Foundation. It will be another item in the fast-paced
auction hosted by Phil Barkdoll. The Trail Buck 650 EX is built for
exploring, easier to drive with no buttons to toggle in and out of 4WD,
no front-mounted radiator to worry about, world-class powerplants and
specially tuned CVT transmissions.
One-of-a-kind memorabilia added to auction list.
Another item just added is a Sunoco fuel can, identical to those used
at the track, now a one-of-a-kind collectors item to be covered with
autographs from all the drivers in attendance at Race Fever 2005. Last
year, these included Casey Atwood, Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, Kyle
Busch, Stacy Compton, Derrike Cope, Kim Crosby, Tim Fedewa, Brendan
Gaughn, Robby Gordon, Tina Gordon, David Green, Dale Jarrett, Kasey
Kahne, Jimmy Kitchens, Bobby Labonte, Ashton Lewis, Jr., Joe Nemechek,
Richard Petty, Scott Riggs, David Streeme, Martin Truex, Jr., and Kevin
Hamlin (Johnny Sauter's Crew Chief).
Fans at Race Fever 2005 will also have the opportunity to bid on a
priceless Hall of Fame ring, one of only six made. The other five will
be awarded to Hall of Fame inductees, so this item is truly unique. A
helmet autographed by some of racing's superstars will also be up for
auction. Dale Earnhart Jr., Rusty Wallace, J. Gordon, T. Stewart, M.
Martin and more have personalized this piece of history. Other items
in the live auction are two trips to Victory Lane, one on Saturday and
one Sunday, fast laps around the track Sunday morning, and two chances
to shake hands with all the drivers, Saturday and Sunday.
All the proceeds of Race Fever 2005 will be used to benefit the Alabama
Institute for Deaf and Blind Foundation, the official charity of the
Talladega Superspeedway. Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB)
has been making dreams come true for people who are deaf, blind, and
multidisabled since 1858. On April 29, 2005, AIDB and Talladega
Superspeedway will unite for the 20th straight year in order to make
dreams come true for hundreds of NASCAR fans.
Race Fever Night starts with a feast from the world-famous Williamson
Brothers BBQ. Then fans can bid on a huge selection of silent auction
items, from autographed NASCAR memorabilia to luxury vacation packages.
During the silent auction, fans also have the chance to meet their
favorite NASCAR drivers, get autographs and have pictures made -- a
thrilling experience for fans of all ages!
