ARCADIS Pledges Tsunami Support in Form of Village Reconstruction

DENVER--Feb. 1, 20057, 2005--ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD) is pleased to formally announce its corporate commitment to aid and assist tsunami victims in South Asia. Steve Blake, chief executive officer of ARCADIS in the United States, today announced a company-wide program to adopt and reconstruct two villages in Sri Lanka.

ARCADIS, a fully-integrated, global engineering and consulting firm, plans to utilize its worldwide network of consultants, architects, engineers, planners and scientists to assess, design and rebuild areas devastated by the massive submarine earthquake resulting in the tsunami on December 26, 2004. Although no ARCADIS employees or offices were directly affected by the natural disaster, operating companies and subsidiaries from around the world have pledged their support. To date, ARCADIS has raised approximately $250,000, to help fund the physical reconstruction efforts.

"We (ARCADIS) felt the best way to aid the humanitarian effort in Southeast Asia and the Eastern African countries was to develop a plan fore recovery in two heavily impacted villages and to help implement reconstruction by utilizing our international network of land redevelopment and infrastructure specialists," said Steve Blake.

Blake also stated that ARCADIS' Netherlands-based board of directors and the Lovinklaan Foundation, the firm's largest shareholder, unanimously approved the initiative and will coordinate the design and reconstruction efforts with local officials and aid organizations.

ARCADIS has long standing operations in Sri Lanka through ARCADIS Euroconsult, its international development firm. Several of ARCADIS' reconstruction and environmental experts stationed in Sri Lanka will determine how ARCADIS can best utilize its expertise and then oversee the reconstruction efforts.

Planning, design and reconstruction efforts are slated to begin as soon as the assessment is finalized and a report is prepared. Our efforts will be target on the maximum humanitarian impact.
