Amerigon Strengthens Management Team to Help Manage Expected Growth in Programs to Launch Climate Control Seat System in New Vehicles
John Terech Promoted to Director, Commercial Development; David Marquette Promoted to Program Planning Manager
DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 16 -- Amerigon Incorporated today announced that it has promoted two experienced members of its product management team to help the Company keep pace with expected growth in future programs to launch its proprietary Climate Control Seat(TM) (CCS(TM)) system in new vehicle models. John Terech, the former National Program Manager, was named Director of Commercial Development, and David Marquette, a former Program Manager, was named Program Planning Manager, effective immediately. Both Terech and Marquette will report directly to Daniel J. Pace, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Terech, formerly charged with all North American Program activities, will be responsible for managing Amerigon's new sales and product introductions. Marquette is responsible for all General Motors program activities and will manage the Company's engineering support, product introduction and launch activities for all North American and European customers.
President and Chief Executive Officer Daniel R. Coker said the decision to strengthen the management team was driven largely by increasing interest in the Company's CCS system from potential new customers and the launch of new vehicle models with CCS from existing customers in North America, Europe and Asia.
"Both John and David have the expertise we need to help us increase and manage the growth, particularly in new vehicle programs we anticipate in the coming months and years," Coker said. "They both know our technology well and they have proven they can manage the intricacies of product development and program management and the customer relationships that go along with securing and launching new programs for CCS. We are very pleased to see them advance in the organization and look forward to their contributions."
Terech, 37, joined Amerigon in 1998 and as National Program Manager he was responsible for all North American program management activities. From 1997 until joining Amerigon, Terech worked for Southfield, MI-based Peregrine where his final position was an Account/Program Manager responsible for developing new business opportunities that were suited to Peregrine's core competencies in seating systems.
From 1988 to early 1997, Terech worked for Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls Inc. where he held various positions including oversight of the Sound and Vibration Lab and Product Engineer in the Mechanisms group. His last position was Staff Engineer.
Terech holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Kettering University and a Masters Degree in business administration from Eastern Michigan University. He currently resides with his family in Brownstown Township, MI.
Prior to joining Amerigon, Marquette, 32, worked for Van Buren Township, MI-based Visteon Corporation from 1995 to early 2003, where his last position was a Senior Lead Engineer for seat system integration.
Marquette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and a Masters Degree in industrial engineering from Lehigh University. He currently resides with his family in Farmington Hills, MI.
