Shane Hmiel on the 2005 Busch season: 
“I’m really looking forward to getting the season started. It has been a 
good off-season, and we’ve had our time to get prepared. It feels good to come to 
the track with a sponsor, especially one that is as high-profile and 
committed to winning as WINFUEL. With the support that we are getting from DEI 
(engines) and Chevrolet, we really excited about getting the season started. The cars 
are the best I’ve ever had, and I think they are the best that Todd Braun and 
Todd Lohse have ever had. We’re really looking forward to putting the WINFUEL 
Chevy in victory lane and making a run for the championship.�??
 
Hmiel on Racing at Daytona International Speedway:
            “I would be really surprised if we don’t run inside the 
top-five, as good as our car was in testing. We were able to take it back to the shop 
and make it a little better. I think that bad luck is going to hurt some 
people during the race, and hopefully it doesn’t hurt us. People put so much 
emphasis on this race and the other restrictor plate races; it actually bothers me a 
little bit because I care so much about the other thirty-two races. I have 
really fast cars here, but I’m really looking forward to California and Mexico. 
This weekend I’m going to qualify as best I can, and I’m going to try to run 
with Martin Truex and Dale (Earnhardt) Jr. during the race. During testing I 
thought that we had three of the top four best cars, along with Kevin Harvick. I
’m going to try to push those guys all day long, until the last few laps. I’
ve had a couple of good finishes here, and at the other speedways, and the 
best I’ve ever done is when I’ve pushed someone all day long and the raced at 
the end.�??
 
Todd Braun’s Outlook on the 2005 Busch season:
“We’re very excited about switching over to Chevrolet and about our alliance 
with DEI (Dale Earnhardt Incorporated). DEI has a top-notch engine program 
and we’re ecstatic about having their engines in all of Braun Racing’s 
Chevrolets. Shane Hmiel is a really talented up and coming driver, and we’re happy to 
have him behind the wheel. I think that we have put all of the pieces together 
to have a legitimate shot at the Busch championship.�??
