NJ Sharing Network Announces 'Donate Life' License Plate Game

License Plate Game Designed to Raise Awareness of the Pressing Need for Organ and Tissue Donors and Features Grand Prize of Trip for Two to the Delano Hotel in Miami's South Beach

SPRINGFIELD, N.J., Feb. 15 -- Nationally, there are over 87,000 Americans on transplant waiting lists, with over 2,900 men, women and children in New Jersey alone. Every year, an estimated 6,000 people die while waiting for organ transplants. For the vast amount of patients on those lists, time is of the essence. The NJ Sharing Network, the federally designated, state-certified recovery agency responsible for providing donated organs and tissue for New Jersey residents in need of transplantation, is proud to announce a new and fun way to raise awareness of the pressing need for organ and tissue donations; the "Donate Life" License Plate Game.

The game began Saturday, February 12th, and features a grand prize trip for two to the world famous Delano Hotel in South Beach. Getting into the game is simple. Whenever a NJ Sharing Network "Donate Life" license plate is spotted, whether it be on the road or in a parking lot, simply write down the license plate number, visit http://www.sharenj.org/, and submit your entry. Once the NJ Sharing Network receives the entry, both the owner of the plate and entrant will be automatically entered to win. In addition to the grand prize trip for two to Miami, other prizes such as hi-tech electronics, gift certificates and more will be awarded.

No purchase is necessary, and every valid "Donate Life" license plate you spot earns you another entry and another chance to win. The same is true for "Donate Life" plate owners, as they too will receive one entry for every time their plate is spotted and a valid submission is made.

The "Donate Life" license plate was created in 2001, to help promote organ and tissue donation. The specialty plate is available to all residents interested in purchasing the plate for their vehicles registered in New Jersey. There is a one time initial fee of $50 for the "Donate Life" plate as well as a $10 annual renewal fee. Residents can also personalize the plate with up to five characters for a total of $100. All standard New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJ MVC) fees still apply to all purchases. The "Donate Life" license plate renewal fees benefit the Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Education Fund. These funds are used by NJ Sharing Network to provide programs that educate the public about the need for more organ and tissue donors. To obtain a "Donate Life" specialty plate, visit http://www.sharenj.org/ and click on the license plate icon, visit any NJ MVC branch or call 1-888-486-3339 to request a specialty license plate application.

The "Donate Life" License Plate Game is open to all U.S. residents 18 or older. All valid submissions must be made by 11:59 p.m. on June 12th with the winners being announced at the annual NJ Sharing Network "Tee-Up for Transplants Golf Outing" on June 27th.

NJ Sharing Network is the non-profit, federally designated, state- certified recovery agency responsible for providing donated organs and tissue for New Jersey residents in need of transplantation, as well as those on waiting lists nationwide. The organization has full, unconditional accreditation by the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations.
