Navicom GPS Names New President
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 15, 2005 -- NowAuto, Inc. announces today that Keith Tench has joined Navicom GPS as the new President. Keith Tench was hired to drive the company's strategy and vision to become the leader in GPS tracking technology and services. Keith Tench has over 10 years of experience and management roles in Bell Atlantic Mobile, AT&T Wireless, and most recently Alltel Communications. Navicom is aggressively rolling out its new distributor program across the US, Canada, and Mexico and has seen double-digit growth over the past few months.
Keith Tench's role at Navicom will be to provide overall strategic and operational direction for the company as it manages to service the rapidly growing opportunities available in the wireless GPS market. Mr. Tench will also be responsible for the upcoming launch of the new Navicom battery-powered portable unit that will be marketed to law enforcement, Government, and Homeland Security Agencies.
Scott Miller, CEO of NowAuto, states, "Keith is exactly the right leader to take Navicom to the next step. He is a seasoned and highly successful executive, with the experience to grow businesses through execution. Hiring Keith Tench as President of Navicom is a huge leap forward for our company. We have seen Navicom grow significantly since we acquired it last year. It is now time to bring in someone who can take Navicom to the next level and continue our growth. He has the experience and knowledge that is required. He is the future of Navicom."
"Navicom's position in the industry is unique and provides opportunities to be successful in multiple verticals. With double-digit growth in this sector, Navicom is poised to take the lead in its Government, Enterprise and Dealership arena. Our immediate goals for Navicom will be partnering with Distributors and starting to align the verticals to expand our market share. The enormous applications for GPS Navicom will expand into other markets immediately. I'm excited about the opportunity to join the Navicom team and look forward to expanding our market share nationwide," said Keith Tench, President of Navicom.
NowAuto, Inc. also announced that wholly owned subsidiary, Navicom GPS, has signed up the first distributor and reseller in Canada. Navicom has also added US distributors in the past 14 days. Navicom has recently changed its sales model to become a supplier to distributors and retailers rather than direct sales. This strategy should significantly increase sales, lower costs, and generate greater monthly service fees. The program is expected to increase Navicom's subscriber base significantly in 2005.
NowAuto announced earlier this year that Navicom was approved by Mercury Insurance Group for comprehensive insurance discounts of 10%. Policyholders that use the Navicom system are given an additional 10% off their comprehensive insurance policy. Navicom is only the 4th approved tracking system by Mercury and will be added to the list of LoJack, OnStar, and Teletrac. Mercury Insurance Group operates in several states and is the 3rd largest insurer in California.
