Reynolds and Reynolds' Networkcar Adds Satellite Option
The Networkfleet(TM) Vehicle Management System now operates on terrestrial and satellite networks
TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 14 -- Networkcar(R), a Reynolds and Reynolds company specializing in remote vehicle performance and location monitoring of fleets and passenger vehicles, today announced at the American Trucking Associations' Annual Technology and Maintenance Council Meeting and Exhibition that it will be expanding its offering to include a satellite option for complete U.S. coverage.
Customers will now have the option to select satellite coverage for those vehicles operating outside of current terrestrial network coverage.
"We have added a satellite option in response to growing demand from a select portion of our customer base," said Dave Dutch, president of Networkcar. "As terrestrial-based systems continue to expand coverage, the need for satellite doesn't impact most of our customers, but we feel it is important to provide a satellite coverage option for those customers with vehicles operating primarily in remote, rural areas."
By providing the option of two networks, Networkcar customers can select the more affordable terrestrial coverage for the majority of their fleet and equip the remaining remotely-located vehicles with satellite coverage. This allows the customer to choose the most affordable coverage option for each vehicle yet still manage the location and performance of the entire fleet using the same hosted software.
The Networkfleet(R) Vehicle Management System offers a variety of features including:
- Route Monitoring for efficient dispatch and routing using a Web-based GPS mapping solution. - Remote Vehicle Diagnostics for enhanced vehicle performance and preventative maintenance through trouble-code, mileage and vehicle speed exception notifications. - Metrics Reporting for improved mobile workforce productivity in the field using a suite of on-demand and exception based reports. - Asset Protection through the use of GPS technology and a 24/7 call center for immediate assistance in the event of a vehicle theft or emergency.
Networkcar is exhibiting at the American Trucking Associations' Annual Technology and Maintenance Council Meeting and Exhibition, which is being held from February 15-18 in Tampa, Florida.
