.0626 of a second separate McClenathan and Dixon at finish line

POMONA, Calif. (February 13, 2005) - With a runner-up position at this 
event in 2003, Cory McClenathan, driver of the Carrier Boyz Racing FRAM® 
AirHog^(TM) dragster, missed going to the second round by .0626 of a 
second during eliminations for the season-opening NHRA CARQUEST Auto 
Parts Winternationals.

The third pair to take to the track, McClenathan and Larry Dixon put on 
a side-by-side drag race.  The pair got away together at the green and 
stayed glued together until after half-track.  At that point, Dixon 
started to pull away tripping the finish line timers in 4.509 seconds.  
McClenathan was just a tick behind at 4.575 seconds.

"This isn't the way we wanted to start.  You always want to do good at 
home," said McClenathan, who grew up in Southern California.  "We're 
disappointed, as we wanted to do well in this debut race for the FRAM 
AirHog dragster.

"We qualified with a 4.52 second run, but that was only good for 11th.  
That put us up against Dixon, who was sixth.  Larry Dixon and (crew 
chief) Dick LaHaie have had a really good race car this weekend.  We 
were hoping that we could take advantage of a mistake on their part but 
came up on the short end of the stick.

"This FRAM AirHog dragster is tunable.  We're going to work with that 
and try to come back in Phoenix and do well."

Team owner Andy Carrier echoed McClenathan's disappointment.  "I'm happy 
that we got the season underway, but would have liked to started a 
little bit better than we did.  We made a drag race out of it but lost 
out at the finish line.  We'll put in some extra time getting ready for 
the next race and bring this FRAM AirHog dragster back stronger at 
Phoenix," said Andy Carrier, who along with brother Mark own Carrier 
Boyz Racing.

Before today's elimination action got underway, the FRAM AirHog crew of 
Carrier Boyz Racing was presented with the "Brut© NHRA Best Appearing 
Crew" award and the accompanying $1000 prize money.
