Cellport Sues Porsche for Violation of Patents

BOULDER, Colorado, February 9 -- - Automaker is Charged With Unauthorized Use of Cellport's Patented
                     2-Part Telematics Architecture

Cellport Systems, creator of a worldwide Personal Telematics patent portfolio for wireless handsets, has filed suit against Porsche North America Inc. for infringement of Cellport's proprietary technology. Cellport has filed similar actions against equipment manufacturers Bury GmbH & Co. KG of Germany, THB USA, Inc. of Coral Gables, FL (dba THB Bury) and Henry Bury Mielec Sp.z.o.o of Poland for infringement of the same Cellport patents.

In this most recent legal action, filed Monday January 31, 2005, in Maryland Federal District court, Cellport is seeking undisclosed damages and an injunction prohibiting Porsche and the aforementioned companies from using Cellport's patented technology without authorization.

Cellport's 2-Part Personal Telematics architecture, licensed to five equipment manufacturers in the US, Europe and Asia, connects multiple makes/models of wireless handsets with one standard vehicle interface for convenient hands-free use for voice calls and other Telematics applications. Interchangeable phone-specific pocket adaptors snap directly on the vehicle's built-in or installed system -- facilitating a link between the phone's capabilities and vehicle resources.

"THB Bury is not licensed to use our technology, yet Porsche is supplying their dealers with Bury's equipment in the United States," said Pat Kennedy, CEO of Cellport Systems. "In order to protect our patents and enforce our rights, we are pursuing these court actions against all four parties."

The company's patented Personal Telematics architecture integrates a wireless handset's voice, data and entertainment capabilities with a vehicle's resources, providing convenient hands-free operation. The system includes a speaker, microphone, voice-activated dialing, external antenna, charges the phone and mutes the stereo during a call.
