Select International, Toyota Partner For Employee Selection in Texas

PITTSBURGH--Feb. 9, 2005--Select International (Select) has been chosen by Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America (TMMNA) to be its employee selection partner when Toyota staffs its new North American manufacturing plant in Texas. The facility, opening in late 2006, will be located in San Antonio and will build the Toyota Tundra pickup truck. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas (TMMTX) is expected to draw over 100,000 applicants and Select is well positioned to manage the large volume and to ensure that the top candidates are hired.

Approximately 2,000 team members will be hired, making this the largest manufacturing plant of its kind in the San Antonio area. The selection strategy will require a team effort that includes Alamo WorkSource who is heavily involved in the local recruiting effort. "We are extremely excited to be partnering with Toyota and Select International in the recruitment and selection process for Toyota's newest manufacturing facility here in San Antonio," said Alan Miller, executive director of Alamo WorkSource. Select partnered with TMMNA for staffing of a new plant in Baja, California, Mexico, which opened recently. "Our experience in working with Select International in Mexico led us to invite them to bid in Texas," said Karen Rencurrel-Andrews of TMMNA human resources. "Given the importance of the San Antonio plant to Toyota's future, it was critical that we partner with a vendor who could deliver."
