Local Businesses Offer Support to Schools by Donating Services and Food to the Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel and CUSD Foundation 'Keys to the Future' Event

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.--Feb. 8, 2005--

Monies Raised Benefit South Orange County's 55+ Local Schools by Aiding Class Size Reduction, Teacher and Senior Grants and Other Programs

Capistrano Unified School District Foundation (CUSDF) is asking the local business community to donate time or goods to the upcoming Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel "Keys to the Future" event. This third annual event raises funds for the Capistrano School District Foundation. By purchasing a $250 ticket, community members are offered the chance to win a Mercedes-Benz C230 sport sedan (now being showcased in the Mission Viejo Mall) and raise much-needed funds for class size reduction (CSR), and the foundation's Senior Scholarship Program, educational support, arts, music and teacher grants.

Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel is the main sponsor of the event. To date, complimentary food is provided by local Laguna Niguel restaurants, Mangia Bene Ristorante, Chaparosa Grill, Baja Fresh, New Mandarin Garden, Mario's By the Sea, Savoie's Fare, La Nonna's Italian Bakery and Olamendi's. Local printer Diversified Litho Services donated printing services at cost to the foundation.

"We are very appreciative of Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel and all the others who have come forward to generously offer their support and goods for the event," said CUSD Foundation Executive Director Nick Alivojvodic. "We are a school foundation that supports every community in South Orange County by offering aid to local schools. We hope others will want to show their community that they are behind the area's goals of staying beautiful and safe by supporting a class-A school system. We are very thankful to those companies that have come forward for this event."

The past 2 years, this fun-filled event has raised over $200,000. With the support of this fundraiser, CUSDF gives away 20 scholarships a year to the six high schools in the Capistrano district. Since the event at Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel began 2 years ago, the Senior Scholarship Program has added two Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel Scholarships at each high school. Scholarships are granted to deserving students in the district and are based on community service, financial need, and scholastic achievement.

Only 600 tickets are currently offered at $250 a piece. For more information on supporting local communities through education or to buy a ticket, contact the foundation at 949-366-0501. The drawing for an opportunity to win will be held during an evening event at the Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel dealership on March 23.
