BP International Reported Today That They Recently Completed Two New Shade Structure Projects That Effectively Launch the Company's Push into the Automotive and Parking Cover Market
DELAND, Fla.--Feb. 8, 2005--BP International, Inc. (OTCBB:BPIL), a leading manufacturer of fabric architecture shade structures and tennis and athletic field equipment, reported today that they recently completed two new shade structure projects that effectively launch the company's push into the automotive and parking cover market."Because BP International has been a major presence in the parks and recreation industry since 1987, due to our tennis and athletic equipment divisions, targeting the playground and bleacher market with our new ShadeZone(R) fabric architecture division was the logical first choice," said Larry Ball, BP International CEO. "In 2004, our second full year manufacturing the ShadeZone product, bookings exceeded $1.2 million. That's a lot of bleacher and playground covers. But it's only the extreme tip of the iceberg for the shade structure industry, which is still in its infancy. Now, according to our five-year plan, we are reaching aggressively into markets where individual bookings can easily reach seven and eight figures. These are the types of contracts we are now targeting with our strategic marketing and sales efforts."
Ball points out that health and safety concerns are steadily increasing the demand for shade over playgrounds and bleachers. Fabric structures are becoming the medium of preference and fashion to meet that demand. BP International has carved a strong presence into this niche market as one of the top five shade structure companies in the country.
"But," continued Ball, "playgrounds and bleachers have always been only the beginning for us. What's so exciting about the fabric architecture industry, what motivated us to develop this particular product line and increase our manufacturing capabilities to handle large capacity orders, is that there are so many lucrative markets with almost unlimited, certainly untapped, potential.
"In the automotive industry, for instance, fabric structures provide auto dealers the most effective way to shade cars, providing valuable UV protection and increasing the comfort level for customers during the heat of the day. Fabric structures, with so many design and color options, add tremendous aesthetic value to the automobile dealerships. But, in many areas, the most important feature our structures offer is hail protection for the cars. Many insurance companies are raising deductibles for hail damage, and this is creating a very strong demand for covered parking at dealerships."
In addition to targeting auto dealerships, the company is currently involved in final negotiations on several extensive seven-figure projects within the automotive and parking industry. The parking industry includes multi-family complexes, automobile distribution centers, large office complexes, airports, and pay for parking facilities. Increasingly, large property management companies are selecting fabric architecture as an attractive and cost effective means for upgrading current properties or providing income-producing amenities such as covered parking.
In the southern states particularly, UV and hail protection and heat reduction are major concerns for public and private parking facilities, and they are driving design and purchasing decisions in the same way sun-related health concerns began driving buying decisions at playground facilities two years ago
