Laninovich Podiums In Anaheim

Red Rider Billy Laninovich racked up his second podium in as many weeks,
guiding his Amsoil/Chaparral/Napster Honda CRF250R to a second-place 125
West finish before a sellout Angel Stadium crowd at round 5 of the 2005 THQ
AMA Supercross Series in Anaheim, California.

Laninovich, who won last week's 125 West event in San Francisco, crossed
the line just 2.232 seconds behind race winner Ivan Tedesco. Nathan Ramsey
filled out the podium in third.

Coming off a pair of back to back seconds,  Angel Stadium was not so
heavenly for Team Honda's Andrew Short, as he crashed out of the main on
lap nine.

Over in the 250 class the Red Riders had a rough night, yet still managed
to finish with four riders in the top 10: Ernesto Fonseca (5th), Mike
LaRocco (6th), Nick Wey (7th) and Travis Preston (8th). Both Fonseca and
Preston ran up front and battled for a podium spot in the early going.

Seven-time AMA Supercross champ Jeremy McGrath, who won his semi to a
thunderous ovation, also got out to a great start in the main, but crashed
on lap three. A crash also claimed Amsoil/Chaparral/Napster Honda's Kevin
Windham a lap earlier. McGrath was credited with 19th and Windham 20th.

Next weekend, the THQ AMA Supercross Series heads east to Indianapolis and
the RCA Dome for round six of the 250 championship and round one of the 125
East series gets underway.
