CTS Corporation Appoints Don R. Schroeder President Electronics Manufacturing Solutions Strategic Business Unit

ELKHART, Ind.--Feb. 7, 2005--CTS Corporation today announced that Don R. Schroeder has been named President of CTS Electronics Manufacturing Solutions, a strategic business unit of CTS Corporation, according to an announcement today by Donald Schwanz, CTS Chairman and CEO. CTS Electronics Manufacturing Solutions is a combination of CTS' Interconnect strategic business unit and the recently acquired SMTEK International, Inc. and is headquartered in Moorpark, California.

CTS Electronics Manufacturing Solutions includes eight manufacturing facilities located in North America, Europe and Asia. "We are excited about the growth opportunities for the Electronics Manufacturing Solutions strategic business unit and we are fortunate to have a person of Don's experience and capability to lead the organization," said Don Schwanz.

Don Schroeder, who is an officer of the Company, will retain his position as Corporate Executive Vice President. Schroeder is a 1971 graduate of the University of Wisconsin where he received his BS degree in chemistry. He earned an MS in chemistry and physics from Iowa State University and an MBA from Aurora College.

Don joined the CTS Frequency Controls business, Sandwich, IL in 1971. In 1977, Schroeder transferred to CTS Microelectronics in West Lafayette, Indiana. While there, he held positions as business development manager, assistant general manager and general manager. He was named vice president sales and marketing of CTS Corporation in 1995, and in 2000, was promoted to the position of vice president business development and chief technology officer. He was named executive vice president in 2001.

During his career, he has chaired numerous advanced electronics packaging conferences, including Electro, ISHM (now IMAPS) and NEPCON. He has presented a number of technical papers at electronics symposiums, including Electro, IEPS (International Electronics Packaging Society), ISHM, NEPCON and SMTA (Surface Mount Technology Association).
