Lear Employees Raise $430,000 For Tsunami Relief

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 7, 2005 -- Lear Corporation today announced a total of $430,000 in financial support has been sent to the American Red Cross to support victims of the Asian tsunamis including $215,000 contributed by Lear employees worldwide during the month of January, as well as a 100% match by the company.

The human devastation of the Indian Ocean tsunami prompted within Lear a desire to do something as a team, resulting in the decision to create a philanthropic match to employees' donations to tsunami relief in the month of January. The donations came from Lear employees around the world.

"Every year, our employees demonstrate their devotion to the communities in which we work and live by giving generously to the annual United Way campaign and various other charitable causes, but in this instance, the response from our people was overwhelming," said Bob Rossiter, Lear Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
