Ikona Gear and Paccar Collaborate on Industrial Winch Technology
COQUITLAM, BC, Feb. 7, 2005 -- Ikona Gear International, Inc. (OTC BB: IKGI), a leader in innovative gearing systems technology, and in keeping with their objective of licensing its patented gearing technologies announced today it has entered into a non-disclosure agreement with Paccar Winch Division (www.paccarwinch.com), a division of Paccar Inc. (www.paccar.com), the North America marketer and distributor of Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks, and the European marketer and distributor of DAF, Foden and Leyland trucks. PACCAR Winch Division is the largest producer of industrial winches in the World.
Ikona Gear and the Paccar Winch Division are collaborating to assess the adequacy of Ikona's new patent-pending Slew-Ring and D-Drive Differential technologies in Paccar's winch products, specifically in developing new winches and hoist drives. If the Ikona design team collaboration with Paccar Winch Division is successful, Ikona has committed to grant Paccar exclusive rights in the winch industry to distribute this new concept throughout the world. PACCAR Winch Division's sales of industrial winches are estimated at approximately 1% of PACCAR's sales revenues of $8.2 billion per year.
