iBiquity Digital's Bob Struble Named One of Billboard's Top 5 Radio Industry CEOs to Watch in 2005
COLUMBIA, Md., Feb. 3, 2005 -- iBiquity Digital Corporation, the sole developer of digital HD Radio(TM) technology, announced today that Billboard Radio Monitor has named iBiquity President and CEO Bob Struble one of its five radio industry CEO's to watch in 2005. This latest recognition follows CNET's recent selection of HD Radio as the "Next Big Thing" in Car Technology, an award that was bestowed upon the company last month at the annual International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
In recognizing Struble in its January 14th issue, Billboard Radio Monitor says: "Give Struble credit for convincing 21 of radio's biggest groups to commit big bucks to high-definition radio ... HD Radio has the potential to level the sonic-quality playing field with satellite and usher in a host of new services and streams that could revitalize radio, just when it needs it the most."
"Billboard has been synonymous with music and entertainment for many years, which makes this acknowledgment especially meaningful," said Jerry Poch, Managing General Partner of the Pequot Capital Management, Inc., and a member of iBiquity's Broad of Directors. "2005 is poised to be the breakout year for HD Radio broadcasting with hundreds of stations beginning digital broadcasts, new products flooding the marketplace and prices for HD Radio receivers falling dramatically. This recognition clearly highlights the importance radio broadcasters are placing on the HD Radio transition."
The four other CEOs appearing on the list are David Field (Entercom Communications), Joel Hollander (Infinity Broadcasting), Mel Karmazin (Sirius Satellite Radio) and Steve Morris (Arbitron).
