Hantz Group To Sponsor Both ARCA RE/MAX Series Toledo Events
TOLEDO OH (1-29-05) The ARCA RE/MAX Series will visit historic Toledo Speedway twice in 2005, and the Hantz Group will bring their marketing muscle to both events.
The Hantz Group, a Detroit-based full-service financial holding company, is proud to announce a partnership with the ARCA RE/MAX Series for race title sponsorship of both rounds of the nationally touring, nationally televised stock car racing series. The Hantz Group sponsored the Labor Day weekend ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Toledo last fall, and that set the stage for further involvement in 2005.
"Getting involved with Toledo Speedway and the ARCA RE/MAX Series in 2004 really opened our eyes to the benefits of being a title event sponsor," said Aaron Thierry, Vice President of Hantz Racing. "With our main office just an hour away from the track, the events are an excellent way for The Hantz Group to offer our employees and clients the experience of what real racing is all about."
When the superspeedway "Cup" style ARCA RE/MAX Series cars visited the high-banked Toledo Speedway half-mile oval in 2004, each event had its share of drama, excitement and "high-profile" race winners.
In the spring event, NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader emerged victorious after race leader and five-time series champion Frank Kimmel got bumped from behind by Billy Venturini with less than five laps remaining. Venturini, aggressively seeking his first career ARCA RE/MAX Series victory, was black-flagged while leading, as a result of the contact with Kimmel, handing the win to Schrader.
The return visit in the fall was no less thrilling.
Kimmel, denied victory in the spring race, battled back from several on-track skirmishes including two spins to win the wild Hantz Group 200. The victory for Kimmel, his 55th career ARCA RE/MAX Series win, moved him into second on the all-time win list behind Iggy Katona. In addition, Kimmel led 63 laps overall moving him over the 8,000 mark in career laps-led.
"The people at ARCA have been great and we are thrilled to be working with them throughout the 2005 season," added Thierry. "We are looking forward to having everyone back at the Toledo Speedway, not only to experience the great tradition of ARCA, but to see some exciting battles on the one of the greatest short tracks in the country."
The 2005 ARCA RE/MAX Series visits to Toledo, which will both be known as the Hantz Group 200, will mark the 57th and 58th appearances for ARCA's premier division since 1963.
The Hantz Group will also sponsor ARCA RE/MAX Series cars in competition at both Toledo events this year as well as 16 other series events throughout the season. Cunningham Motorsports will field the Hantz Group Dodges in 2005 with veteran crew chief Eddie Sharp heading up the effort.
