Over the last four years, the Honda Civic Tour has started the tradition of bringing music fans across the country their favorite break-out artists. This year's headliner, Maroon 5, has captivated critics and audiences alike with their debut album "Songs About Jane." These talented hit-makers will electrify the stage and bring together a diverse audience, making the 2005 Honda Civic Tour an unforgettable concert experience. Maroon 5 will be kicking off their tour on March 11th at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. With 35+ stops nationwide, they will be playing bigger venues and more concert dates than ever before. Adam Levine (vocals/guitar), Jesse Carmichael (keyboards), Mickey Madden (bass), and Ryan Dusick (drums) spent the second half of the 90's playing in the Los Angeles rock band, Kara's Flowers. In 1999, with the addition of guitarist James Valentine, they renamed themselves Maroon 5 and signed with the independent label, Octone Records. Songs about Jane was released in June 2002 and has gone on to spawn two number one hits and sell more than 8 Million copies around the world. Over the past few months, they have received the Best New Artist award at the MTV Video Music Awards, a Billboard Music Award and two Grammy nominations. The band was also honored by the readers of Rolling Stone Magazine who recently named Maroon 5 the second best band in the world (after U2) with the Number 3 single of last year, "This Love."
Cutting edge rock bands Phantom Planet, The Donnas or The Thrills will open for Maroon 5, depending on the tour market.
