Zantrex-3(TM) Selects Fred Miller as Manager of Sports Marketing
IDRHF Hall of Fame Member to Oversee Motorsports Sponsorships
SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 27 -- Zoller(TM) Laboratories, the maker of Zantrex-3, the nation's leading weight loss supplement, announced today it has selected Fred Miller as manager of sports marketing. Miller, an International Drag Racing Hall of Fame member, will manage the Kalitta Motorsports National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Top Fuel car sponsored by Zantrex-3. Additionally, legendary Top Fuel racer Shirley Muldowney will support the car as the team and sponsor relations representative.
"I've spent 30 years on racetracks and Top Fuel racing is one of the most exciting motorsports today," said Miller. "I'm looking forward to managing the Zantrex-3 car, which has already shown itself to be as fast-acting and full of energy as its namesake."
Miller will coordinate and oversee the Zantrex-3 car in all 23 NHRA races in the 2005 season. When not racing, Miller will coordinate tours of the car around the United States, bringing the racing excitement to the masses.
Also a supporter of the Zantrex-3 car is Shirley Muldowney, the first woman to break the 5-second barrier in Top Fuel racing and a member of the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame. Muldowney will travel with the Zantrex-3 car to races and events to speak with racing fans and lend her vast knowledge to the sport.
"When we were selecting a manager to oversee our sports marketing efforts, we found Fred Miller and would look no further," said Gina Gay, Marketing Director of Zoller Laboratories, maker of Zantrex-3. "Fred is a legend on the racetrack and will bring a tremendous amount of energy and expertise to the Zantrex-3 car. Shirley is also a huge asset to the Zantrex-3 car. She set the bar for women racers and continues to drive the sport forward."
Miller rose to fame during his work with the Blue Max Racing Team and its legendary driver Raymond Beadle. As a member of the Blue Max Team, Miller won an incredible six World Championships including a rare double-up in 1980 when the team won both NHRA and IHRA championships. In 2001 the team was inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame.
The Zantrex-3 Top Fuel car is wrapped in the familiar blue packaging of the Zantrex-3 bottles and is driven by David Grubnic. The car already led "Aussie Dave" to his first NHRA win at the Budweiser Shootout at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in November. The win was the first in Grubnic's 10-year career. He flew from one end of the raceway to the other in 4.501 seconds at 328.46 mph, taking the top winnings of $100,000.
